You might want to employ a full time person, ie housekeeper who can be of help, especially at night. Early onset usually progresses much quicker than older alzheimers patients. Are there any neighbours who can keep an eye out if they see him in the street alone? It is great that he will have a companion during the day as they can take him walkabout and keep him busy with supervision.
